DOPE actor Tyler Perry allegedly raped a 10-year-old actor, who was also a victim of Perry’s repressed personality disorder, prosecutors said Monday.
The actor and his wife, Jennifer Lopez, are accused of having sex with the child actor in his parents’ Los Angeles home on June 1, 2012, prosecutors say.
The boy was arrested last week, and he pleaded not guilty.
Perry’s lawyer, Robert Esterman, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The alleged rape came just days after Lopez’s estranged father, Peter Lopez, told police that he had “known Tyler for a long time” and that he “had a lot of respect for Tyler,” according to the Los Angeles Times.
The newspaper said that Lopez had told his wife he had not been able to get the boy to stop having sex.
The girl’s mother said she was “devastated” that her daughter would be in the grip of an alleged rapist.
The child is now 11 years old, according to prosecutors.
Perry is accused of forcibly sexually assaulting the boy while the two were in his home.
The two allegedly met for sex after Perry had dropped the child off at school, according a court affidavit.
Lopez told police she and Perry began having sex “in a matter of minutes,” according a police report.
“Tyler was upset and told me he wanted to stop the sex and that Tyler had been disrespectful to him,” Lopez wrote in a statement.
“The sexual act was consensual and the sexual act did not occur during a school day.”
Lopez’s attorney told the Associated Press that the actress was “extremely upset” about the allegations and is looking into whether to pursue criminal charges.
Perry was arrested after his wife was arrested for allegedly assaulting a friend, and the actor has denied the allegations.
Perry and Lopez are currently on bail.
